SteveO Michel grew up in the streets of Tymber Skan, one of Orlando Florida's most dangerous neighborhoods. The oldest brother with seven siblings and a single mother who fled to the USA from Haiti, SteveO overcame poverty in every sense of the word. He was the quiet type in school, yet a leader. SteveO never viewed himself as anything special until his freshman math teacher, Kathryn Kuehn, approached him during alternative bell schedule at Jones High School. Mama Kuehn knew SteveO was different and didn't belong in the group he was in.
Through a series of events, wise mentors, and incredulous work ethic, SteveO transformed his life. He went from dealing drugs in the streets for extra grocery money, to becoming a defensive linemen at Colorado State University. College did him well, but when he graduated... to Tymber Skan he would return. SteveO had a degree but no direction. As his story would have it, opportunity arose for him to become an Orange County Firefighter. He pursued this avenue with in his entirety and is currently returning calls on the same streets he grew up on. A story of redemption is told through the life of SteveO Michel. Sit back, relax, and get your pens ready... because this is Write It Down.
