Today we sit down with a fellow Nutrition Coach Vanessa Gillette and she talks about her journey from being a D1 Equestrian athlete at the University of Georgia and never truly feeling like an "athlete" as she struggled with her weight throughout college. She then went onto starting her life in the corporate world post college and never really loving the jobs she was in albeit she was an excellent worker she didn't have the passion for it like she wished.
It wasn't until she started CrossFit and hired a coach herself that she was able to start making some head way on her weight loss journey. In the process of changing her body she found a deep interest in learning what was going on in her body and eventually became the person her friends would come to for advice on how to get in shape. From there her coaching career began and as recently as this last year was able to make more money in her coaching career then her accounting job and now has gone full time in her coaching business.
In this podcast we talk about:
How her relationship with food changed over the years and how to remove the labels of "good" or "bad" when it comes to eating.
How to handle adversity and set backs when your weight loss isn't happening as quickly as you would like.
Proper expectations for a weight loss journey
The power of flexible dieting
and so much more! I hope you enjoy!
