Gillis Pellegrin of The Educated Dieter joins us today to break down all things hormones that the majority of us skip over when it comes to our health and nutrition.
I was super excited to has Gillis on this week because we dive into my disease Addison's disease and I get an explanation around it I haven't had before. I learned how serious and rare of a disease this is and how it effects my energy on a daily basis. We talked about my childhood and where this first came up in my life as well as some functional herbs I could start taking today to help combat my low cortisol levels.
After we dove into my disease we really broadened the conversation to a more general talk around the growing concerns for people and their hormones right now. The majority of us are hyper stimulated with technology and stimulants that if left unchecked can turn into some serious hormone issues down the line.
We dove into the hierarchy of hormonal issues, being: Adrenals first, Thyroid second, and Sex Hormones last. We then talked about the differences in hormonal issues between men and women in our day and age. And finally shared a lot of different tests you can use to check your hormone status as well as some non-test needed protocols to start implementing today to better help your hormone profile.
